Spring 2025 Workshops

In (the workshop), Kathleen was prepared, knowledgeable, and intentional with their time. I appreciated the combination of trying out movements and learning the “why” behind them. her energy felt very open and kind; you can tell she is passionate about what she does. Last but not least, it brings me joy to see a practitioner like Kathleen actively uplifting and crediting fellow practitioners, writers, creators, etc. from marginalized communities. I would definitely do another session!

This workshop is upon request - minimum 4 people. It is 4 hours long, and you can decide if you do a half day or two 2-hour sessions. If you want more embodiment practices, this can also be a full-day workshop or 2 half-day workshops.

In this workshop we will focus on pleasure and how to bring pleasure into redistribution work. With the assistance of consent tools such as the yes-to-no spectrum (a consent framework that recognizes our decisions do not live in a binary but are on a spectrum from hell yes to hell no based on a variety of environmental, emotional, and everyday life factors, developed by Mia Schachter of Consent Wizardry) and the wheel of consent (a consent framework that explores “the art of giving and receiving” developed by Dr. Betty Martin), and by engaging in several embodiment exercises, we will dive into your relationship with money and moving money both on the somatic and intellectual level.

What happens when decisions about money are viewed through the lens of consensual giving and receiving? Can moving money and sharing resources become …. pleasurable? Whom do you allow to ask you freely for money? What's blocking you from feeling liberation for yourself in this process? Can moving money and sharing resources be regenerative and liberatory for all involved? How do you allow yourself to feel when moving money, when being asked to give money, when receiving money from your parents? We will explore these questions and more.

Part of this workshop is influenced and inspired by the Wheel of Consent® as developed by Dr. Betty Martin. I am interested in the Wheel, I have studied the wheel extensively through workshops and self-study, I used the wheel consistently in my own life, but I have not studied with Betty or the School of Consent.
